- Each person checks in separately as a regular passenger
- Once all members of the tour have arrived, the group check in at a special group check-in counter. Group members present their own tickets, luggage, and travel documentation, but everyone goes through at the same time
- Once all members are present, the tour director presents everyone's tickets and travel documentation at the counter while the group waits in a lounge or holding area. At one time, this option was preferred by most airlines. Today however, with the increasing concern about security at the airports worldwide, many airline officials want to see each person with his or her travel papers and own luggage before issuing a boarding pass
